Having a loved one with a continence issue can be a challenge.  It can have an emotional impact on everyday life as they can become withdrawn and self conscious.

When an individual cannot empty their bladder in the normal way, he or she will need an alternative method, and help with continence care. Intermittent Self Catheterisation (ISC)/Clean Intermittent Catheterisation (CIC) is the most gentle solution.  This will have to be managed until they become more confident in emptying their bladder with a catheter.

Hunter Urology has designed Intermittent catheters with the patient’s needs in mind:

  • A range of diameter (Charriere/CH also known as French Gauge/FR) including sizes suitable for children, starting from size 06
  • A range of lengths
  • Funnel for connection to a drainage bag
  • Bespoke tip for use with reconstructed bladders or prostate cancer
  • Catheters which are comfortable to use and are easy to insert and remove
  • All our catheters are available on prescription in the UK, and can be found on medical schemes in other countries, for example the GMS in the Republic of Ireland
  • A discreet and reliable home delivery service using Prescription Direct

With support from your healthcare professional and the correct catheter, your loved one will learn to self catheterise and take control.
